Job summary

  • GSC: Contribute to supply chain activities of Japan/Korea Market including safety, quality, manufacturing, engineering, planning, customer fulfilment, Projects, and competitiveness delivery.
  • Plant Chemist: Play technical window between 3P Contract Manufacturer and BP, as plant chemist to implement bp formulations, and quality standard.
  • Quality: Be the quality lead of North Asia, and play the key contributor among global quality team in whole BP.
  • Technical support: Contribute to the business growth, support the commercial team as technical representative. New product, suppliers, services, and also regulation support.

Key Accountabilities :

GSC
  1. Meet HSSE and Ethics and Compliance target. Drive safety leadership across Japan/Korea Supply Chain and Projects in support of the overall lubricant’s targets and ambitions.
  2. Support North Asia Market performance, deliver targets Financial delivery, and meet Performance KPIs:
  3. Support North Asia growth plan and Road map trajectory.
Contract Manufacturing Manager as Plant Chemist
  1. As primary responsible person, implement bp formulation and quality standard at 3P contract manufacturing partners, through working with internal R&D, technical team, and ASPAC functional tags,
  2. Manage product manufacturing procedures, process, specifications, and quality standard at our 3P partners, for the stable supply and new product launches.
Quality Manager
  1. Japan and Korea Quality Control and Quality Assurance Lead.
  2. QC audit for 3P Contract Manufacturers periodically, and its GAP closure.
  3. Lead to make decision for non-conforming material (both produced by contractor and imported from BP’s plant). Communicate with original supplier to seek root cause and implement corrective action.
  4. Play the key contributor among global quality team in whole BP, and lead whole North Asia team in safety goals and requirements.
  5. Develop and implement quality system (similar, but inferior to ISO 9001).
  6. Lead to close customer complaint, making decision for non-conforming material (both produced by contractor and imported from BP’s plant). Communicate with original supplier to seek root cause and implement corrective action.
Technical support
  1. As technical representative in GSC, support all global/local business growth and efficiency projects. Like New product, suppliers, services, and also regulation and customer specific tech support.
Key Requirements :
  • At least 8 years of experience in Process engineering, or QC/QA, or Purchasing, or other related roles in manufacturing company, preferably Japanese or Western global company.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC, as well as associated compliance requirements.
  • Lubricant, or Oil and Energy, or Chemical Industries are preferable.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with internal and external partners, sometimes geographically diverse teams of stakeholders.
  • Understand and can demonstrate bp’s 5 Core values. Safety, Respect, Excellence, Courage, and One Team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (Fluency in English & Japanese essential).
  • Graduate – bachelor’s degree in science.
