Credit and Trade Finance Senior Analyst
Our supply and trading business, Trading & Shipping (T&S), connects BP to the world’s traded markets for oil, gas, power, refinery feedstocks and currencies. We market BP’s equity crude oil and natural gas, import feedstocks for our refinery system and buy products to meet marketing demand. We offer a combination of unique expertise in physical supply and trading, innovative financial structures, and world-class analytics to deliver long-term value, from wellhead to end customer.
In this role You will:
- Manage and maintain credit database requests
- Maintain collateral management and Excess tracker daily
- Process and action relevant Letter of Credit requests, pay relevant fees and charges
- Search for improvement possibilities and active participation in CI projects
- Provide help and guidance to Trade Finance Analysts, Analysts in the team and back-up for Lead Analyst
- Coordinate and ensure completion of all team-related ad-hoc queries
- Supporting Lead Analyst and management in a professional and smooth transition, bubble support and launch
- Completing insurance checklists which require interactions with structured trade finance and front office
- MI reporting for Trade Finance which includes collating information, cleansing, and streamlining
- Issuance of Import Documentary Letters of credit to ensure they cover the deal in question
- Implement discounting agreements which involve completing a pre-defined template with information in the credit system and SAP invoice. Sending the draft to the bank, making any corrections, and preparing for final sign-off
- Generating reports for portfolio discounting and collaborating closely with the bank
We have the following requirements:
- Relevant studies or 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or LC environment
- Fluent English (level C1) spoken and written
- Strong verbal and written communication skills plus the courage to speak up
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail
- Good work ethics and professionalism
- Good problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Have a mentality for finding continuous improvement opportunities and automation ideas
- Good excel and PowerBI skills, comfortable dealing with large spreadsheets/datasets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills plus the courage to speak up
