The Digital Innovation Lead continuously scouts and implement opportunities for innovation across bp.

The role’s remit extends from facilitating sourcing of ideas through networks, coaching and facilitation to directing them to the appropriate participation option with the appropriate business or function in bp, or by evolving them into viable products, applications and technologies.

As a digital innovation lead you will be expected to advocate for innovation, facilitate ideation and build relationships with teams to strategically identify innovation opportunities and building out the value of innovation. You will be working establishing and working with centres of innovation across bp.

This role continuously scouts and implements opportunities for innovation across bp.

The role’s remit extends from facilitating sourcing of ideas through networks, coaching and facilitation to directing them to the appropriate participation option with the appropriate business or function in bp, or by evolving them into viable products, applications and technologies.

In this role, you will be advocating for innovation, facilitating ideation and building relationships with teams to strategically identify innovation opportunities and building out the value of innovation.

You will directly engage highly technical people in groundbreaking innovative activities, leadership and influence. You will have the soft skills required to achieve success in creating a culture in bp where innovation flourishes.

You can connect and excite through communities and networks encouraging people across the organisation to share their ideas and work to take a range of ideas and pull the right people into proving and scaling & adoption.

Key Accountabilities

Connected innovation is bp’s key initiative for crowdsourcing ideas, enabling bp employees to express their ideas, big and small, that could revolutionize bp, bringing new and exciting digital ways of working and competitive advantage to our business groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Continually identify and launch new innovation opportunities across bp.
  • Set direction for creating and running innovation campaigns and challenges, with the clear intention to generate ideas to grow value.
  • Be the innovation specialist to set up teams as centres of innovation across bp.
  • Lead innovation workshops to stimulate idea development.
  • Support the qualification of ideas and ensure a timely throughput of innovation through the pipeline
  • Champion the use of the enterprise ideation management platform and maximise the benefits of using the tools.
  • Be an advocate for innovation and a leader embedding innovation through best practice tools and frameworks.
  • Lead market and competitor analysis
  • Engage with external partners to stimulate ideas
  • Engage with delivery teams working on Proof of Values (POVs) and ensure alignment to original goals and business outcomes

Your Education:

  • Educated to degree level.

Essential Experience:

  • You have an excellent knowledge of methods around the creative ideation and service design process (User Research & Test, Workshops, User Journeys, Personas, Design Thinking) and how to apply them
  • You also have experience on business analysis techniques (Design Governance, Maturity Assessments, Feasibility Assessments, Gap Analysis, Business Cases, Capability and Capacity Assessments, etc.)
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills
  • You are skilled in MS Office and agile PM platforms (Atlassian, ADO etc.) and online facilitation tools (Mural, Miro etc)
  • You have experience in leading midsized teams
  • You are familiar working in enterprise environments.
  • You are experienced in agile methods like Scrum and Kanban and fine to work in complex & long-term engagements directly interacting with senior client partners.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in your country language and English.
