Job summary

Grade G Responsible for managing a team to deliver software / platform engineering activities (depending on specialism), ensuring technology choices are driven from IT&S strategy, taking accountability for the design, development and maintenance of a software system / infrastructure platform, and assisting in creating the vision to maximize value from current and emerging technologies. Specialisms: Software Engineering; Platform Engineering.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Activity-manage the performance and workload of the London EUC team.
• Maintain relationships with other global EUC teams (Chicago and Singapore).
• Arrange Show and Tell developer sessions for new Office functionality and technology opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with the business managers in RPTE. Regularly meet to discuss workload, capacity and priorities of the team, capturing relevant details in the EUC Hopper, and working with the team to adjust plans to match business priorities.
• Maintain relationships with the Desktop Support team in 20 CS at all levels.
• Maintain relationships with the Market Data team in 20 CS at all levels.
• Work with the central DPDT team to complete the migration of all business-critical applications in RPT supported by the team from the EMDC to the cloud by the end of Q3.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• Broad experience designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions.
• Depth of experience to recommend appropriate platforms for relevant business requirements.
• Experience of managing a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to talk at all levels across the organization.
• Ability to engage and influence is of paramount importance. Able to decompose technical considerations that everyone can understand is key. and stakeholder management and ability to lead organizations through influence.
• Degree/HND Level in computer science or related subject (optional).

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive (10 years+) knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VBA and the use of add-ins.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL Server.
• Experience working with Python and related frameworks.
• Experience working with PowerBI, including wide knowledge of business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modeling, database, and technical aspects of BI tools.
