The Finance Coordinator translates this view of performance to provide insights for informing decisions and ensuring financial implications are integrated into strategic plans and the forward view of operational in year performance. He/she also supports leadership decision making outside of finance and assists through ascertaining the impact of business decisions. The Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning process and analyzing and presenting core performance data which includes the timely and accurate reporting of the GFO, MI and may be responsible for resolving processes within GBS. From time to time, the Finance Coordinator will support project activities within the function/business ensuring project financial data is accurate and supports appropriate decision making.

The Finance Coordinator focuses also on working closely with and providing insight to a specific function or business area. The focus of the role is to monitor and analyze performance to provide a consolidated view and independent financial insight to support the function/business.

Your Tasks:

Planning

  • Captures, analyses and reports financial outcomes and annual planning process for a multi-year planning horizon, ensuring plans are appropriately stretched for specific Functions or business areas including risks and variances.
  • Manages the consolidation and review of data which includes a projection of cost, performance and apply both a market and competitive lens to analysis to identify trends, opportunities and potential risks.
  • Proactively identifies and investigates data discrepancies and escalates issues to the Finance Senior Manager (Midstream)
  • Supports initiatives, ensuring processes continue to evolve to assist the delivery of the Strategic and financial performance aspirations.
Performance Insights
  • Translates a view of financial and operational performance using extracted data from hosted systems (such as SAP).
  • Partners with other function/business stakeholders to analyse financial performance and support the articulation of underlying delivery of actuals versus latest forecasts on a periodic basis. This may be having a focus on supporting a specific function/business or at a segment level.
  • Provides detailed analysis of focus areas of performance using financial and non-financial KPIs and trends including timely presentation to the function/business of any insights and interventions required.
  • Works closely with the function/business to explain and simplify performance, planning and reporting output to help
Performance Reporting
  • Supports the functions/businesses with reporting processes, explaining accounting concepts and terminology in a simple, easy-to understand manner.
  • Ensures function/business transactions and results are recorded, reported and forecasted with integrity, transparency and in a timely manner in accordance with financial and control policies.
  • Engages with key stakeholders and assists in the preparation of financial reports for a specific function/business combining financial skills with business acumen providing an independent perspective.
Business partnering
  • Maintains strong relationships with other function/business stakeholders.
  • Develops relationships with the wider Finance team and function/business Leads to identify and enable simplification opportunities within the extended business.
  • Provides coaching and training to the function/business on the financial outcomes and major dependencies.

Your background:

  • University degree level or equivalent in finance or business-related discipline
  • More than 3 years of experience in finance, commercial or performance management
  • Knowledge in standard MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint…)
  • Knowledge in SAP R3 (FI, CO, BW, ISP S/M, BCS and FBW) and tableau
  • Knowledge of financial accounting according to IFRS (and HBG)
  • Knowledge of Group reporting systems and standards
  • Knowledge of the mineral oil industry is an advantage
  • Deep understanding of business and processes (Supply, B2B, Cards, PetChems, Retail)
  • Understanding of performance management processes, tools and metrics.
  • Understanding of how Finance processes and systems operate, including key internal interfaces and with third party providers
  • Understanding of system controls, financial controls and risk assessment including an understanding of how Finance processes and systems operate and key internal interfaces
  • Fluent in English and German (verbal and written) level C1 and any other European language is an advantage
