Grade G Responsible for providing relevant models and analytical insight that directly influence, support & surface commercial activities using advanced technical and analytical expertise, identifying process improvements and working with stakeholders and analytics colleagues to share information and ideas, build models, and develop tools and systems.
The Global Biofuels Lead role is high impact, it is front facing and it is integral to the success of the Low Carbon Strategist organization within Trading Analytics and Insight at BP.
The role is a recognized market expert with extensive experience in providing distinct commercial insights into Biofuels markets. A deep understanding of the supply side, within the global Bio Feeds markets. In particular the first generation agricultural markets as advanced feedstocks. They hold a clear record of translating analytics into market insights; both across the short term trading time horizon and the longer term outlooks, able to pivot from short term trades to longer term strategic views.
The Global Biofuels Lead works closely with the VP, Low Carbon Strategists. You will set the direction for the global biofuels’ analytical development- a co-ordinated global approach to developing the toolkit required to monetize across the full suite of biofuels markets that BP trades.
The Global Biofuels lead will provide timely , commercial insights into Low Carbon BioFuels markets across the globe. Develop analysis to help advise trading ideas and asset strategy in key markets.
The successful candidate will lead a global team of biofuels analysis in pursuit of developing best in class short term tradeable analytics and longer term strategic insights to drive asset identification and origination strategy across Low Carbon markets. The individual will be highly commercial and independent in nature, able to see ‘value to have’ versus ‘nice to have’ within the analytical space.
The individual is a highly skilled communicator, able to have conversations across multiple groups in BP. They will work as a part of the Low Carbon strategist team to champion dialogue with collaborators on the research outcomes, develop trading recommendations and asset identification based on analysis
They will develop an analytical capability offering within the Biofuels markets stream for the Low Carbon Strategist Organization .Set the direction for the global biofuels’ analytical development, developing the toolkit required to monetize across the full suite of biofuels markets that BP trades. The global lead will be required to build a strategic vision and delivery road map to drive institutional capability development within this space.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional development of a team of analysts globally- they will have demonstrated experience in developing analytical capability and market expertise in individuals they have led.
Prior experience as a Lead Market Strategist focusing on Low Carbon markets, Oil and Gas markets, policy strategy, or a or macro led financial strategy team.
