Job summary

Purpose of role: As a member of the GBS Global Digital Solutions and Transformation team the Head of Business Process & Automation CoE is pivotal for driving business process excellence strategy & optimization, process automation and operational efficiency
Key Results / Accountabilities

  • Leading Process Automation agenda for GBS and BP Group
    • Promote and maintain BP RPA Strategy and enable a constant stream of automation a constant stream of automation opportunities and that these are identified, prioritized and funded working in close collaboration with Business, Segments, Information Technology & Services (IT&S), Functions and Global Business Services.
    • As part of GBS solution design, but also in support of the wider BP Group agenda, be accountable for delivering on automation opportunities that result in significant productivity savings for the Group. Deliver automated solutions in a timely fashion and that they meet the business objectives
    • Accountable for the Automation solution design driving the product and vendor strategy for the Automation platform, ensure automation platform is scalable, flexible and secure, and standards and controls are defined and technical teams aligned to the same.
    • Accountable for RPA Governance, ensuring process guides, programme metrics, RACI, KPI definitions, standards and templates and process monitoring mechanisms are in place for a successful delivery of automation
  • Leading Business Process Management (BPM) Centre of Excellence
    • Deliver a cultural change in GBS in collaboration with GPOs and HoF’s by supporting the transition to process management at a global and functional level through direct authority for process architecture design, provision of
    • Maintain the Enterprise Process model as a control for BP ensuring effective management of the EAM and EAM governance process including execution of design authority, rigorous review cycles, connectivity to working processes and
    • Champion the Process Management CoE in Group and support BP functions in understanding the value of a process lead mindset through the demonstration and deployment of effective process management tools, structures and support as requested
    • In collaboration with GBS Chief Data Officer develop the value case for process mining to support GBS and Group in achieving fully optimised (automated and straight-through) end-to-end processes
  • GBS Service Catalogue
    • Re-define purpose and drive enhancement and optimisation of the GBS service catalogue by empowering the process management CoE to review current processes, implement and maintain effective and efficient processes, ensuring that they are fit for purpose for the GBS functions in support of understanding their geographical footprint and transformation journey for their future design and locations strategy
  • Introduce and drive idea generation through innovation labs, crowd sourcing, hackathons, etc. and support the GBS-wide drive to create in-depth digital knowledge and engagement.
  • Hiring and managing diverse and innovative talent; creating an environment which fosters experimentation, learning and thriving for excellence.
Education and Experience -
  • Minimum 18 years plus experience in with technology, delivery with process engineering and automation expertise and a broad understanding of various technology solutions and platforms
  • Minimum 12 - 15 year of experience in a fast-paced, high-demand, performance delivery environment with specific experience leading automation and business process CoE
  • Excellent Governance skills, execution leadership, process improvement and change leadership skills
