The Information Protection Security Engineering Service team’s mission is to enable bp to innovate at pace in a disciplined, safe and secure way.

We are seeking an Information Security Engineering Specialist with strong technical expertise in Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerApps, Power Virtual Agents), who is interested in joining this new squad to help build and operate this service and the underlying products. As a key member of this team, you will be working as part of the small empowered, customer-centric squad to secure both the Power Platform infrastructure and the applications developed within it.

As the Information Security Engineering Specialist, you will ensure adherence to policies, standards and best practices and provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders. Using advanced technical capabilities to lead changes to security processes and procedures, you will review complex security issues and lead security solutions from identification to implementation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for delivering information security and risk activities for Information Security Engineering.

Key Accountabilities :

Security Engineering: You will provide advanced technical expertise in support of information security & risk activities, specific to Information Security Engineering. You will design and deliver security solutions to projects across the BP IT environments. You will manage the implementation and application of relevant operating processes and procedures. You will operate investigations and incident response processes and provide a consistent response to cyber-based malicious activity.

Relationships: You will develop a strong working rapport with other team members to drive innovative initiatives. You will liaise with various teams and senior stakeholders across BP, to advise on information security and risks. You will use your abilities to influence and inspire change in a positive and impactful way.

Technology: You will bring good hands-on skills in key technologies. You will use your ability to rapidly assess and identify the potential of new technologies with a commercial mindset.

Safety and Compliance: The safety of our people and customers is our highest priority. You will champion a culture of operational safety and ensure our architectures, designs and processes enhance and improve our digital security.

Required Criteria

  • Advise on security within the Power Platform infrastructure with a focus on the underlying data components such as Dataverse.
  • Work within the Power Platform team to create safe, secure guidelines for development within the platform
  • Lead conversations around how we can monitor and govern both data and code within the platform. You will be a pivotal member of the squad and can shape and support the success of this new service.

Technical Experience Required

  • Understanding of Power Automate, Power Apps and Power Virtual Agents
  • Understanding of the basics of data governance and the application lifecycle Experience with both cloud and client based automation Experience with data protection, governance and monitoring.
  • Experience with the Microsoft M365 products and solutions, with a focus on Sharepoint and Teams. Experience with the Microsoft suite of M365 security controls. Understanding of API access and authentication (eg MS Graph)

Business capability:

  • You have significant experience in either an internal or external information security and risk role, or similar.
  • You pride yourself on having advanced technical knowledge and experience in delivering security solutions, providing technical advice and overseeing security processes for the specialism. You have a great experience in stakeholder management.

Desirable Criteria:

  • You must have an external accreditation – recognized by the IT&S Information Security Profession (e.g. CISM, GICSP, CISSP, M.Inst.ISP). We expect you to hold this accreditation within 12 months of taking up the role. We also find it desirable if you have a Microsoft security qualification
  • Interest in coding and development
