The role is one of two Infrastructure Advisors in Australia that provide engineering oversight and assurance for bp’s midstream assets in Australia, including terminals, pipelines, depots and redundant assets, which are predominantly operated and maintained by NOJVs and third party contractors in service of bp. The Infrastructure Advisors ensure that these important parts of our fuel supply chain operate safely, reliably and efficiently by effectively overseeing and influencing the third parties to deliver strong performance. Work is divided between the two roles. This is a safety critical role.

The Opportunity

  • Influence a strong safety culture at NOJVs and depots through living bp’s safety leadership principles
  • Ensure bp’s infrastructure exposure risks are being appropriately managed through assurance plans, including site visits and frontline engagement
  • Act as the centre of expertise and advisor to the midstream team on midstream infrastructure
  • Support the development, refresh and implementation of the Australian infrastructure strategy, including identifying and developing aligned business opportunities
  • Identify and drive ongoing improvement in safety, performance and cost management for Australian infrastructure, including reporting and investigating incidents and near miss events
  • Maintain an ongoing positive relationship with ATOM (bp’s terminal operations and maintenance NOJV) to drive performance and deliver value for bp
  • Work closely with the ATOM engineering and maintenance team to support delivery of excellent maintenance and capital projects, and to ensure that bp’s contractual commitments are met
  • Lead capex planning/budgeting, in year forecasting and financial administration for Australian infrastructure
  • Provide engineering assurance for all midstream infrastructure capex and major revex projects, influencing ATOM
  • Lead the organisation and oversight of depots maintenance, providing contractor management and aligning processes with our Operating Management System
  • Plan and complete the decommissioning of redundant assets
What you’ll bring
  • Engineering degree with 5+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Strong safety and operational risk management skills and experience
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills - internal and external
  • Experience in project and/or maintenance planning and execution within similar facilities
  • Desirable to have experience working with terminals and pipelines equipment maintenance with third parties driving strong performance and delivery
  • Experience in project management and/or leading maintenance contractors
