Role Synopsis

Intelligent Operations (“IO”) is a function within BP’s Innovations and Engineering (“I&E”) function. Our mission is to bridge the gap between bp’s physical and digital worlds to release value leading to world class operations through deployment of the latest digital edge solutions. We are seeking a new team member to help us advance the Automation of our emerging low/no carbon businesses which include Wind & Solar Energy, Hydrogen & City solutions.

As a Lead Business Analyst in IO you will own and manage the core business analysis activities within the digital product landscape, and work closely with the Product teams to deliver the change. You will help deliver projects for our customers implementing the latest Industry 4.0 technologies from sensors, Robotics, IOT platforms, Video Analytics, Edge compute and much more from ideation through to scale.

IO focuses on 3 core automation imperatives; Industrial Automation, Customer Automaton and Workflow Automation to help our deliver value to the businesses we support. Using a user-centered approach, you will work with both the business and other I&E teams to find opportunities to apply intelligent operations to help them improve safety, achieve net zero, improve quality and availability, drive efficiency, and improve cashflow resulting in the creation of a backlog of IO epics/ideas.

About You

You will help customers build out their North-Star vision to align everyone around their Digital roadmap for the future and turn those ideas into POC’s, PoV’s, MVP's forming the building blocks to future fully scalable IO products. You will work with Operations to drive improvement plans, process monitoring tools (visual management, process excellence toolkit, quality checks, etc.), and refresher trainings. This role requires to have the skills, leadership and experience in Business Analysis, and Agile delivery in areas of digital.



Job Advert Key Accountabilities

  • Team: Lead and work across both internal and external teams to analyze business needs and shape these into incremental deliveries which our Software Engineering teams can deliver
  • Relationships / Stake-holder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders both within our Business groups and with our Digital Delivery teams to ensure strong continuous communication
  • Regular engagements with stake-holder groups (internal and external) to ensure timely resolution or ensuring reporting of risks/issues to request the support required. Ability to influence and inspire change in positive and impactful way.
  • Delivery Management: Ownership of business needs from identification to delivery to ensure that we are doing the right things at the right time and are able to learn and iterate as required by the needs of quickly evolving business landscape.
  • Maintain open communication between everyone involved and act as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining, and implementing business engagement strategies and plan.
  • Digital / Technology: Create awareness and understanding of the technology in the business groups and demonstrating the potential of the technology to add new value for the business area. Defining and implementing the change management required for the technology implementation. Implement continuous improvement cycle within the delivery and ensure standard methodologies are shared across the team.


Essential Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, sciences, engineering, mathematics, or related equivalent
