Lead Group Treasury Operation Analyst

The Team is providing operational support to Group Treasury. Responsible for the transactions initiated from any group treasury accounts directly or as a POBO (Payment On Behalf Of the business) as well as the issue resolution of these payments. Information distribution and to advise the different businesses, partners are also a remit of the team in regards of POBO payments.

The Lead Analyst provides supervision and support to the more junior team members in the accountabilities to ensure a smooth daily operation. The person is responsible for the process optimization and project support in case it is required.

As a secondary role, the Lead Analyst acts as a back up of the Cash Analyst roles.

In this role You will:

  • Carry out regular daily/weekly/monthly activities in a timely and accurate manner for sophisticated cash & banking and accounting areas assigned to your role.
  • Perform booking, clearing and offsetting transactions in Blackline and SAP systems.
  • Identify, investigate and clear Cash in Transit entries by cooperating with cross-functional teams and regional partners.
  • Review and coordinate end to end quarter / year end close processes in a timely and accurate manner for sophisticated or difficult accounting areas requiring extensive experience in order to ensure the accurate reporting and accounting treatment. Resolution of issues and queries may require reference to Group Reporting Manuals and/or working closely with Business/ Country teams supported.
  • Perform, control and support cash & banking, accounting and treasury activities for a given region.
  • Perform cash forecasting and local cash analysis taking into consideration FX impact.
  • Look for opportunities to drive process improvements of a notable nature across the team and work with the relevant people to put these in place. This includes taking a leading role in implementing changes in processes and tools.
  • Work with the Business teams supported to ensure mutual understanding of all accounting entries and follow up on queries.
  • Act as a „Super User” on ERP, acting as a focal point and first line of enquiry on technical issues, providing mentorship and training to other members of the team.
  • Develop a good understanding of the area of the supported businesses.
  • Support the management with the critical issue handling within the given area of expertise.
  • Align with any other job-related requirements. This may be defined by a task list, month end or quarter end timetable or defined by one’s relevant team lead or process lead or by business contact.

What You will need to be successful:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business fields.
  • Min. 5+ years of the experience in accounting, Cash and Banking or another transferrable field.
  • Proficiency in English, other foreign language is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting and implementing strategic plans across the organization.
  • Experience in continuous improvement tools and proactivity in driving issue resolution. 
  • Ability to work with deadlines, under pressure with a track record of delivery.
  • Stakeholder-oriented thinking with proven case record.
