Job summary

Responsible for acting as a dedicated category resource, providing analyst support for category strategy development (category aligned) using sound category management knowledge, and conducting day-to-day procurement execution activities in order to meet the Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements for procurement operations.

The Customer and Products Logistics & Fuels Procurement Analyst (LPA) plays a role within the Logistics and Fuel Category team and with our Partners to develop and support the execution of world class Category Strategies that deliver value to our businesses while managing risk and supporting business growth.

Role Synopsis

  • Be accountable for the development and execution of Warehousing and Transportation Category Strategies for China and North Asia, working with the Category Manager to align the Regional with the Global Strategies.
  • To partner with our partners and the Procurement team to translate business requirements into Procurement plans and aligned with the Category Strategies.
  • Provide Category Mentorship to the Source to Contract/GBS teams to ensure sourcing projects are aligned with Category Strategies and business requirements.
  • Be the Category lead on key projects in your Category and Region

The Customer Procurement Analyst role will require you to apply an agile mentality, quickly adapting to new tasks and categories working with variety of Business Facing and Sourcing & contracting teams on development and implementation to support of bp’s aims and ambitions.

In addition, the role may be required to:

  • Provide support to other Logistics and Fuel Category activity both in the AsPac region or globally if required
  • Support the Value Delivery across for the global C&P businesses.
  • Act as the Supply facing interface between a business and the procurement organization.
  • Lead all aspects of sourcing and contracting execution by Supply Chain Solutions and Global Business Service teams.

Category Strategy & Implementation Support

  • Leading development of the countries in scope, translating the global strategies into a local context (dependent on category scope and seniority of Category Specialist)
  • Support CMs to ensure a deep expertise within the category area, by accessing MI and external knowledge to ensure strategy is advised by an intimate knowledge of the supply market, key dynamics and latest thinking within the field
  • Run inputs to the category and sourcing strategies i.e. market analysis, cost modelling and benchmarking.
  • Support Category Managers to ensure timeliness and quality of all contracts required for safe, compliant and reliable business operations i.e. implementation in the appropriate systems, category compliance, contract management and trainings.
  • Lead local contract management, performance reporting and the monitoring and management of escaped spend
  • Ensure compliance to BP policies such as risk management, delegation of authority and DP functional guidelines.
  • Accountable for value delivery tracking from the category strategy implementation.
  • Responsible for the Value Delivery in the assigned category and regional scope
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of annual plans for category and scope.
  • Working with business interface organization, routinely communicates across key business partners and align them with the strategic intent of the team and the regional/local business needs.

Essential Education:

  • University degree in a technical or related equivalent business field required.
  • MCIPS/ISM qualification, or at stage of pre-qualification, desirable

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of professional experience in purchasing and procurement positions, including multinational environments, with a bias towards Logistics and Supply Chain Procurement experience
  • Strong project management capability across multiple countries
  • Understanding of the end-to-end Procurement process
  • Demonstrated experience at delivering business benefits to an organization
  • Excellent time-management and task prioritization skills.
