Job summary

The Market Intelligence Lead will sit in bp’s offshore wind Market Intelligence & Bid Solutions team providing market intelligence, insights and analysis to regional business development, central business excellence and senior management teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of in-house knowledge and tools for market intelligence and analysis at the portfolio level
  • Understand and track regulatory and market frameworks in offshore wind
  • Consolidate regional market intelligence from the regions into global portfolio view, and monitor market dynamics within offshore wind and other technologies
  • Support organic and inorganic business development activity with the provision of ad hoc market analysis and insights
  • Prepare decision material and regular reporting to senior management and steering committees
  • Support the preparation of strategic materials and executive briefing notes
  • Support portfolio decisions with market analysis and insights
  • Support the management of bp research subscriptions
  • Attend industry events representing bp

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Professional experience in the energy industry (ideally renewables/offshore wind)
  • Understanding of the commercial/strategic challenges for the renewable energy industry
  • Strategic mindset
  • Relevant knowledge and ability to influence and drive decision making at senior management levels
  • Ability to manage concurrent requests and to work across projects/workstreams
  • Confident communicator to a range of audiences
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Growth mindset

This role will be required to:
  • Work closely with adjoining Business Excellence and other regional offshore wind teams to drive bid strategy and portfolio management decisions
  • Work with bp group enablers and integrators such as Strategy, Sustainability & Ventures and group Finance and other businesses such as Hydrogen and CCUS and Trading & Shipping
  • Work with Competitor Insights team for the preparation of senior management reports
  • Work as a strong team player able to establish rapport with team partners and internal and external stakeholders
