Midstream Products Optimization Senior Manager UK

Job summary

Grade F Responsible for managing a large team to identify opportunities to grow BP's business, contributing to strategic development, delivering comprehensive commercial operations support and facilitating the implementation of strategic priorities to optimize the team's financial performance.

Lead and energise the Midstream Products Optimization / Supply team in the UK and ensure the integrated value generation across the value chain, including in Trading and Shipping and Mobility and Convenience (Retail). Ensure reliable and economic supply to customer facing businesses and act as the custodian of the integrated value chain.

Maintain and own key interfaces along the value chain including externally with Fuels products suppliers, terminals and internally with Trading and Shipping, Terminals and Pipelines, and Aviation.

Drive functional excellence and capability building as well as ensure agile work principles are being deployed. Lead the transition of the supply business in line with bp's net zero aspirations and strategy.

Key Accountabilities
Commercial Operations

• Hold senior external relationships to customers and suppliers and act as senior internal and external representative of bp's supply business. Represent bp in external forums and agencies
• Work closely with the biofuels and low carbon teams for compliance and optimization opportunities as they arise and are applicable
• Assign focus areas for work force and technology development to improve quality and reduce risk
• Build supply resilience and co-ordinate responses (IMT/BSTs) to short and medium term fuels supply challenges

• Act as servant leader and support supply squads as needed; actively upskill / coach employees to support discipline and personal development goals. Promote cultural shift to an agile organisation
• Maintain close engagement to midstream key stakeholders, Mobility and Convenience and to Trading and Shipping and Production and Operations.

• Accountable for integrated Midstream profit and lost and overall integrated value generation in the geography, act as supply squad leader to ensure the integrated value chain optimization
• Drive cash performance through optimising working capital and supply reliability expectations.
• Jointly own and work with the VP UK Mobility and Convenience and UK Fuels and Convenience Leadership Team to drive total integrated Gross Margin (directly Fuels but also considering convenience/shop impacts)

• Derive, own and implement the supply modernization and transformation strategy derived from bp's net zero ambitions and strategy. Execute and implement the improvement projects and initiatives of the Mid term plan as per agreed milestones.

• 10 years in supply, trading, experience of working in a refinery or terminal beneficial.
• Experience of directly and/or indirectly leading a team of diverse professionals
• Direct customer and/or supplier relationships and short and/or long term commercial negotiations
• Understanding of sources of value in integrated value chains

• In-depth knowledge of the fuels supply and midstream aspects and/or dynamics of the geography

• Able to lead through understanding and aligning the needs of the team and drive to move the business forward.
