NL ARC Finance Analyst
ARC = Accounting, Reporting and Control

Role synopsis:
Clear and accurate description of the role i.e. business context, why the job exists, purpose of the role. The Role Synopsis is a brief statement to determine:
  • The job and its purpose – The role is responsible for the provision of accounting, control and reporting framework for the BP Refinery Rotterdam (bpRR) business and to ensure timely, accurate and meaningful management information to its key stakeholders
  • Desired strategic outcome of the position – successfully deliver accounting, reporting & control processes for bpRR
  • Where the job fits into the organizations goals – Provide accurate financial reporting to allow data led decisions and to ensure compliance with Group and local Finance policies and regulations
  • Exactly what the position is required for – Meet bp’s Group reporting and compliance requirements in terms of providing monthly reporting for bpRR, providing financial assurance on bpNL’s reported numbers, maintaining bp’s control framework and meet local statutory reporting requirements.
In this role you will:
  • Deliver refinery accounting, control and reporting processes, including the refinery fixed assets verification
  • Coordinate and actively participate in the month/quarter end close activities including pro-active engagement of remote Finance teams (business service centers)
  • Deliver timely, accurate and meaningful management info and discuss with local management
  • Responsible for successful execution of Financial procedures as per bp Group Policies
  • Coordinating and actively participating in the month end close activities including pro-active engagement of remote, offshored and outsourced Finance teams
  • Drive and support specific local business development activities and projects
  • Co-ordinate financial audits and specifically the statutory audit by bp’s auditor
  • Act as focal point for financial accounting queries
  • Ensure integrity of reported business results and inform Finance management of any identified vulnerabilities or opportunities
  • Establish, maintain and monitor financial controls
We have the following requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Business Economics (BSc) or Business Administration (BBA)
  • Accountancy degree
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Finance
  • Solid Accounting and Control experience
  • Working experience in a multi-national company
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills, able to make a significant contribution to local management team while offering sound independent advice on Finance matters
  • Preferably good IT skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
Desirable criteria:
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization is preferable
  • Experience in working with large ERP systems like SAP and SAP BW
  • You enjoy problem-solving, working under pressure and are results-oriented
