bp trading & shipping (T&S) is one of the world’s leading energy trading houses. Our traders work with our partners to buy, sell and move energy, integrating our products and services to provide energy solutions for thousands of customers in 140 countries. In T&S we use our scale, breadth of expertise, and mix of bp assets and third-party relationships to create multiple options for bp products and services, enabling us to deliver them to the optimal markets at the optimal time.
At any one time, about 300 ships are on the water for bp, enabling us to move around 240 million tonnes of oil, gas and products every year. T&S currently operates a fleet of 13 vessels (7 LNG carriers and 6 product tankers) and oversees a much larger third-party fleet of around 300 ships, on spot and time charter.
Our ambition at bp is to become a net zero company by 2050 or sooner and to help the world get to net zero. T&S is vital to this transition, playing an integrating role in managing bp’s energy flows as they evolve. We expect the T&S portfolio to continue to reflect the global energy mix as it decarbonizes.
