Job summary

The Senior Service Engineer (SSE) will be accountable for ensuring DE&O services are delivered to meet the requirements specific sites within a geographic region. This will require the SSE to work in close partnership with other I&E Digital teams. ​

Digital Enterprise & Operations (DE&O) designs, builds and operates BP’s core Infrastructure services. It is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the technology people rely on every day to do their job; these services include; computers, telephones, email, wireless, conferencing; helpdesk support for end-users of services; and the design, build and operation of BP’s IT infrastructure and systems, such as data centres and networks.

• Deliver an integrated set of IT services to the businesses, typically across an agreed site footprint, operating within the delegation given by the relevant Staff Service Engineer​

• Assist with the management of the operational budget across the region; ensuring the operation is delivered within delegated financial authority​

• Assist in the delivery of DEO services across an agreed site footprint ​

• Develop positive working relationship with a variety of people within a small team and contribute effectively in team environments/Service Providers​

• Act as one of the DEO points of contact and service integrators for daily operations and planned IT activities across the agreed site footprint. Provide input and guidance to assist with the diagnosis, investigation and to generate solutions to problems. Working with and as part of a network of IT service line representatives to ensure that day to day service delivery is coordinated across the agreed site footprint.​

• Assist with designated DEO planned activity (Projects & Changes ) impacting site operations​

• Assist in managing the transition of relevant IT projects into cost effective operation for the business in the geography, ensuring that projects will not negatively impact site or region customer experience​

• Ensure that all site specific infrastructure projects are aligned and comply with Data Protection, Security and I&E standards, act as a Gatekeeper and SPA, from a site perspective ​

• Ensure that all DEO activities at a site footprint perspective comply with BP business policies, Legal entities, Local Tax Legislation etc.​

• Provide input to and linkage with IT Service delivery team, ensure that these strategies, standards, processes and plans are adopted and adhered to within the agreed site footprint.​

• Ensure there is service delivery cohesion and consistency across the agreed site footprint and or geography, provide input and guidance to any centrally driven or Global IT projects to ensure site implications are understood and to guarantee minimal business disruption​

• Ensure site level incidents are managed and resolved, with problem management follow-through
