Job summary


The purpose of the role is to provide strategic employee and industrial relations advice and develop business practices that create long term value for shareholders and employees.
The position holder is also responsible for supporting line managers to manage engaged, high-performing teams, using sound technical capabilities to provide day-to-day advice, case management, line manager support for critical 'moments that matter' and project delivery in line with the business' people plan, local legislation, BP policy and best practice.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Internal:

  • Identify and implement ER/IR initiatives to assist business performance and enhance productive employee relationships including strategies to manage risk in contractor services
  • Provide coaching and support to people and culture (P&C) and leaders on a wide range of ER/IR matters
  • Acts as non-reward policy owner to review and develops p&c policies and procedures liaising with related parties to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. This includes the Indonesian Personnel Manual and other policies.
  • Liaise with Unios and/or KBBU on company related matters, providing support and advice to Company Representatives as needed
  • Provides advice on complex cases or litigations liaising with E&C, Legal and related P&C partnering
  • Develops and makes continuous improvement of employee relations procedures including grievance procedures, disciplinary actions and exit interviews
  • Role model bp’s values and behaviors, compliance with bp policies and safety leadership
  • Provide specialist advice on modern slavery and contractor workforce rights, providing advice in organizational risk reviews and supporting audit outcomes
External:
  • Acts as main contact for external relationship with government bodies relating to employment matters, including but not limited to SKK Migas, Manpower Ministry and Local Manpower Offices.
  • Keep up with industry issues and practice related to ER/IR and provide recommendation to the business to response to the changes (if any)
  • Benchmark ER/IR practices

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES AND JOB REQUIREMENT :

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Knowledge in P&C and Manpower Law and Regulations
  • Able to engender support from key stakeholders to progress ER/IR initiatives.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing succinctly and effectively with all of levels and businesses/functions in BP
  • Proven track record of operating effectively within a team-based environment, including group problem-solving techniques and facilitation skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality analysis and conceptual output
  • Ability to priorities highest value work and deliver in a demanding environment
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Experience working within and across multi-cultural environment, build strong relationships based on trust and honest discussion
  • Experience engaging with unions and providing ER advice to major construction projects
  • Agile work practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge in PTK 018 SKK Migas
  • Experience of working in a HR and or Legal Department concentration on Human/Labor
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Law and Human Resources.
