Glen Lyon is a Deepwater production and storage vessel in the Atlantic Ocean West of the Shetland Islands. It is located in a harsh weather environment, 400+m water depth and is an environmentally sensitive. There are over 70 available wells (producer and water injectors) with multiple flowlines, risers and a complex topsides processing facilities. It is a digitally advanced asset with huge amounts of data that needs managed, and complex control logic.
The Senior Petroleum Engineer in the Deepwater Production Management Squad is one of the senior practitioners responsible for delivering the production target. The successful candidate will ensure Well Design and Operating Limits are adhered to; drive optimisation opportunities in wells, subsea infrastructure and topsides; and coach/develop junior engineers. They will coordinate investigations following operating limit excursions or production deferrals. As a senior member of the squad the successful candidate would be expected delegate and stand-in for the Squad Lead.
This role has its own deliverables as an individual contributor, but also delivers through others - through influencing and mentorship rather than line management. The candidate will coordinate development of less experienced squad members like the ACE PE and junior PE and will contribute to the development of PEs within the North Sea PE discipline through delegation and coaching, including outside of Glen Lyon.
The role acts as an integrator between disciplines; onshore and offshore and is visible to Regional, Area and Discipline leadership. The senior PE knows the key issues facing the asset and prioritizes the delivery of squad activities supporting these issues, ensuring the Production Management Squad PEs are working on the correct tasks and supporting them when required.
Additionally, the senior PE influences the priorities of the other PMU discipline teams. The field has multiple partners with different equity fields; is a complex waterflooded field; and good reservoir management is required to maximise offtake.
