Process Control Network & Systems Engineer

The Process Control Network & Systems Specialist fulfils the role of Automation Systems Digital Security Single Point of Accountability (ASDS SPA). This includes ensuring the cybersecurity of all the refinery networks excluding office network. Also, oversees all support, projects, short- and long-term planning and work prioritization regarding the PCNS network.

In this role You will:

  • Serve as ASDS SPA and accountable for cybersecurity conformance of all networks below BP1 facing firewall per BP standards
  • Accountable for availability and reliability of the Process Control physical network and application infrastructure (from BP1 facing firewall up to vendor proprietary networks)
  • Ensures agreed upon availability of these systems to end-users
  • Develops and maintains a life cycle management program (LCMP) for the physical and virtual systems in scope of PCNS team
  • Develops and maintains a budget to support the LCMP and informs the capital budget accordingly
  • Accountable for planning the work of the PCNS team and prioritization linked with overall Process Control goals
  • Ensure knowledge continuity of PCNS team by overseeing that key information and work procedures are documented
  • Provide key input to fit PCNS team in Process Control long term strategic plan
  • Support operational excellence and continues improvement by delivering Process Control based solutions to existing problems and develop new strategies to optimize operations
  • Provides requirements as input for LCMP projects

We have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience working in a leading role in automation systems
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels of an organization and convey technical concepts and issues to non-technical staff
  • Ability to lead and influence others to accomplish work, reach consensus and act
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems and Safety Systems
  • Experience with implementing digital security controls in automation systems
  • Systems administration experience with MS Windows operating systems
  • Experience with basic networking protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, SNMP
  • Experience with network hardware devices such as switches, routers, firewalls
  • Experience with writing policies/procedures or other compliance documentation
