Job summary

Responsible for supporting products/offers for a specific market, including delivering new offers, and supporting implementation of major new offer development projects.

Role synopsis

  • The Product Owner will be a key member in the high performing product management team with Product Managers and Business Process Analysts.
  • The mission of this role is to create exceptional customer experiences through the definition and delivery of high-quality digital products that ultimately enable EV drivers to enjoy a reliable, seamless, and convenient charging journey. Together with Business Process Analysts, this role works side by side with technology delivery team to envision, prioritize and build digital products, and services that fit with bp architecture and platform strategies, keep bp compliance with digital security policies, and deliver best-in-class customer experience by leveraging digital platforms, services integration as well as potential 3rd party feature integration. He works closely with Product Managers, business sponsors, users and customers to identify key pain points and to collaboratively design and build solutions that delight the customers.

Key accountabilities
  • End-to-end ownership of the entire value chain from ideation to release and lifecycle management of product features
  • Own and manage Azure DevOps backlog for the EV Digital Platform including the framework, governance and process for feature requests and prioritisation, taking inputs from existing customer pain points or jobs to be done into valuable and usable products or services
  • Prioritize the product backlog at feature and user story level based on relevant business needs, internal/ external customer requirements, industry best practice, and technical feasibility and ensure the product is built and the service operated in line with bp technical and security compliance/ standards/ principles
  • Validate user stories based on the preparation provided by the respective Business (Process) Analysts, align and prioritise user stories in close collaboration with technology delivery teams and business stakeholders
  • Define MVPs, plan product releases, and strategically scope features/ epics to achieve rapid feedback cycles by actively interacting with relevant functions across the organisation
  • Ensure technical documentation for services (e.g. for integration purposes for partner development teams) are in place
  • Monitor feature performance and stability, proactively reporting to product/ business teams as required; gathering key insights with an in-depth understanding of customers and users that will shape the digital experience

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Highly experienced in capturing requirements and building, managing and communicating product backlogs and roadmaps
  • Expert in customer and product centric design methods, taking concepts from ideation through to execution in developing digital, enterprise scale products/ software solutions
  • Experience with designing creative, quality consumer products, as well as enabling business capability and objectives through technology
  • Highly experienced working as part of a scrum team, must be able to display practical working experience
  • Self-starter mentality with proven track record of operating in high-intensity environments with time critical pressures
  • Positive personality, with energetic working style and very strong resilience, passionate about continuous improvement, process efficiency and working as part of a high-performance team

Desirable criteria and qualifications
  • Deep understanding and good practices of Agile methodology, ways of working
  • Experience in mobility and energy industry with relevant technologies and their application in business models
  • Experience with conducting user research, rapid prototyping and analytics
  • Strong product intuition and user empathy
  • Entrepreneurial experience.
  • Cross cultural and global working.
  • Understanding of bp core businesses where possible.
  • Strong English knowledge in written and spoken form.
