Your priorities will primarily include:

  • Safely deliver site projects at GSK and wider EU Refining portfolio as summarized by strategic plan for project count/total cost across all project stages
  • Generally, all projects <$100MM, as decided at the end of project concept development and recommended by GCD
  • Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for establishing and controlling the annual Capex budget to deliver project activity
  • Co-accountability with p&o projects PGMs in the refining operating base for third-party engineering services contractors and regional EPCm capability
  • Driving improvements in engineering, contracting, construction and controls to maintain and deliver ongoing improvements in capital effectiveness and project outcomes adding value to bp
  • Part of the entity leadership team in refining and Interface with production support managers
  • Establish project objectives and priorities with business stakeholders that are aligned with the overall site strategy and respond to complex operational problems
  • Oversee project scope development to meet project objectives and create maximum value
  • Actively maintain the hopper of site projects, progressing the most essential, and recycling or cancelling the less essential
  • Challenge business and project assumptions to deliver maximum return on investment to bp
  • Select appropriate resources to create an integrated, cross-functional project team of owner and third party resources to design and implement the project
  • Promote communication, coordination, teamwork and alignment of all project team members
  • Comply with all bp’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures including, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), accident, injury, incident and near miss reporting, and the correct use of equipment
  • Comply with all HSSE directions of the HSSE Manager
Our requirements:
  • University degree (completed)
  • Many years of professional experience (refinery, petrochemical, chemical industry, production, etc.)
  • Mastery and demonstrable delivery of capital projects and delivery of refining brownfield or revamp projects integrated into turnarounds
  • Strong interface management and communication skills
  • Very strong in Project Management, Stakeholder Management and Leadership
  • Portfolio management experience
  • Agility
