bp and Equinor formed a strategic partnership to develop offshore wind energy in US. bp and Equinor will jointly develop four assets in two existing offshore wind leases located offshore New York and Massachusetts that together have the potential to generate power for more than two million homes.

The partnership will leverage capability and experience from both companies. Development engineering, construction and commissioning operations will be performed by Equinor Wind Services LLC US. It is staffed by secondees from both Equinor and bp. ​

This role is needed to support these projects in Stamford, CT and/or Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate may support offshore wind as a home-based employee before deployment to the US East Coast, upon prior agreement, and must be mobile to work in the required area when needed.

It is possible that this role will become a secondment onto a bp joint venture. This can be discussed in more detail during the recruitment process.

This is an excellent opportunity to reskill in renewable energy and become a leader in bp’s net zero ambition. This role is a secondee position within Equinor Wind Services LLC US. The successful candidate will be a bp employee on standard bp terms and conditions.

The Quality and Risk Engineer (QRE) is accountable for:

• Implementing the Project Quality Management System
• Provide guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to confirm understanding of the project Quality objectives
• Risk Management
• Supplier and contractor capability review
• Lead / coordinate Quality Control activities
• Develop and implement audit programs to verify project and supplier adherence to quality requirements and risk management procedures.
• Manage requests for non-conformance
• Contract term drafting and follow up
• Regularly collect, evaluate and report Quality Assurance and risk management KPIs from the project delivery teams and key contractors, for performance management by the project QRM

About you
You will have an engineering degree from an accredited university. Experience is what matters. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing or related discipline is required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and spoken English along with a business and safety oriented mind set.
It’s desirable to have:

• Experience with supplier quality management
• Experience with site quality management on construction projects
• ISO 9001 lead auditor
• Professional certification such as CQI, P.E., PMP, or ChEng
