Responsible for coordinating the activities of a team accountable for providing day-to-day dedicated procurement, programme and stakeholder management support for a hub or at site, based on sound procurement management knowledge, and conducting day-to-day (non-category aligned) procurement execution activities in order to meet the Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements for procurement operations.

Regional Sourcing Lead

GBS Procurement is integral to building bp's distinctive capabilities and enhancing the procurement processes. In order to achieve this, they are collaborating with segment category teams to effectively build, segment and manage the third-party supply chains. They are building the next generation of category management; sourcing and digital capability in line with bp’s defined functional vision and location strategy.

In this role You will:
  • Execution of complex sourcing events within the bounds of agreed spend and risk thresholds
  • Validate requests, scopes of work and liaise with stakeholders to ensure all business requirements are considered/met
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence data on a regular basis relative to the appropriate category and region to properly gauge and evaluate market and industry conditions utilized to determine the sourcing strategy
  • Develop Sourcing Strategy based on incumbents, market conditions, scopes of work, etc.
  • Driving sourcing excellence through deploying best practices, providing a consistent experience, utilization of strong market intelligence and running world class bids that deliver significant value for the business
  • Lead complex negotiations for multi-million commercial contracts
  • Ensuring compliance to GBS Procurement controls and contract template structures
  • Working with Category Teams to ensure compliance to category guidance
  • Ensuring a consistent and efficient process is maintained through the effective use of tools and systems.
  • Engaging stakeholders in support of strategic sourcing activity and managing expectations
  • Reporting team effectiveness through key metrics, including value delivery to the Sourcing Director

We have the following requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Commercial/Engineering discipline
  • Strategic sourcing/procurement experience of 8-10 years in the Property/Real Estate/Facilities category, specifically sourcing packages such as technical due diligence, project management, design and construct, interior designers, workplace consultants, furniture, movers, facilitates management, Integrated facilities models, etc.
  • FIDIC and JCT contracting experience also desirable
  • CIPS Membership
  • Experienced in working across time zones and cultures
  • Experienced in running high profile and complex sourcing events (including multi-vendor, single source negotiations, and RFXs)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required given diverse nature of operating landscape
  • Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to motivate cross functional and diverse stakeholder and category teams
  • Skilled in contracting including developing contract strategies, leading contract negotiations, and setting up contracts with ongoing management in mind
  • Ability to communicate and influence across different levels in the organization
  • Engaging and collaborative way of working
  • Resilient and experienced in working in multi-faceted environment
