Job Description:
GBS People and Culture Services and Solutions (P&C S+S) is an internal global HR shared services organisation, responsible for delivering centralised and standardised People and Culture Services and Solutions for bp from a number of geographical delivery centres as appropriate for bp’s footprint. People and Culture Services and Solutions are the first point of contact for People and Culture related matters; the team are policy and process experts, dedicated to delivering the best customer experience. The GBS People and Culture Services and Solutions Reporting and Data team provides People and Culture operational reporting and data, MI, analytics and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business.
The purpose of the reporting and data SME role is to provide bp people data through data provisioning and reporting to support business, operational and service management for bp business, internal People and Culture Services and Solution and cross Delivery Centres; incorporating data from multiple People and Culture sources. The SME will provide deep technical and process domain expertise to support decision making in these areas through the provision of reports and information to the business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide deep technical expertise in reporting and data solutions. Develops and maintains domain expertise in all data areas (Core People Services, Offer & Onboarding, People Care, Learning Services)
- Provide technical support and coaching to reporting and data team/community as and when required. Act as a first point of contact for unresolved issues / escalations, resolution tracking until closure, exception handling and audits for the reporting process.
- Analysis and fulfilment of People & Culture (P&C) reporting requests from our case management channel or from s+s solutions team in the form of change requests. This includes supporting the team with and undertaking any complex operational reports and trend and analysis dashboards sourcing data from any of / multiple HR systems or Data Lake used by the organisation.
- Accountable for driving the use of self-service reports and dashboards
- Accountable for the set up and management of all standard / scheduled reports defined in the reporting catalogues
- Continuous improvement of the reporting and data services working with solution owner to build P&C and business capability on self-service reporting as well as streamline existing reports and datasources
- Work closely with other P&C Services and Solutions team members to ensure that overall operational objectives are met, ideas shared and lessons learnt
- Develop and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders, customers, external service providers and liaise with business partners to understand requirement and tailor solutions to provide critical insights for making informed business decisions.
- Undertake other work in support of the service area as required, actively participate in projects
Essential Education & Experience:
- A university degree or professional qualification
- Minimum of 5 years reporting and/or data related experience preferably in HR
Technical Capability
- Workday core reporting and analytics: Proficiency in creating and managing complex Workday reporting and analytics request, including the use of calculated fields to derive meaningful insights from raw data and being able to design Workday reports and discovery boards that meet specific business needs.
- Prism analytics: Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, which enables the integration of external data sources with Workday data to create comprehensive reports and dashboards.
- Microsoft Power BI: Expertise in using Power BI to create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards. This includes the ability to connect to various data sources, transform data, and build complex visualizations that deliver actionable insights.
- Azure Datahub platform knowledge: Good understanding of Azure datahub platform knowing to be able to use the datahub for reporting purposes.
- Numeracy & analytical thinking – able to quickly and effectively analyse system generated data to deliver insights (talent, reward, performance) and assimilate data and information from a range of sources to advise business insights.

Desirable Criteria:
- HR Administration experience and associated systems
- Workday core reporting and analytics experience – Workday reports, discovery boards
- Prism analytics
- Microsoft Power Bi dashboard and data transformation development
- Experience using Salesforce CRM system or equivalent
- Foundational knowledge of HR processes in Workforce, Payroll, Talent, Learning and Resourcing
- Proficient in using Office 365 tools for productivity and automation particularly Excel for data analysis.
- A continuous improvement approach; seeking simple, ‘best fit’ solutions to challenges
