bp is undergoing a strategic transition into an integrated energy company and has an ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner. Applied Sciences is the team that conducts bp’s physical research and development (R&D); bp is a technology-based company and this global team of about 750 specialist scientists, technologists and engineers will be key to making net zero a reality through the development and scaling of low carbon technologies and solutions as well as maintaining a healthy pipeline of advanced differentiated products for Castrol and bp’s fuels businesses.
The Applied Sciences’ Strategy, Capability & Partnerships (SCP) team generates coherency across Applied Sciences’ activities and ensures effective integration and alignment across the global teams and with internal bp stakeholders. The team also plays a lead role in the Applied Sciences Transformation agenda and in continuous improvement projects to enhance the effectiveness of R&D investment.
