Job summary

Role Synopsis
The Productivity Product Engineering team and service falls within the Productivity & Collaboration portfolio in digital workplace.
The team will develop productivity and collaboration products leveraging industry best practices and learnings for use at scale across bp. You will be required to employ Agile working techniques to brainstorm new ideas, undertake technology POCs and launch products in support of frictionless business user productivity and collaboration experience globally.
You’ll act as part of a team responsible for new and existing product automation and innovation, design and build, including customization of products and tools for BP colleagues and external users. Primary activities will be leading the development, customization and testing of Productivity and Collaboration products and tools, as well as owning end to end technical designs and processes.

Key accountabilities
• Team: As part of a team you will translate relevant business requirements into designs for new and enhancement of existing products and tools.
• Innovation: Work with the team to create a clear vision & maximize value from current applications & emerging technologies, demonstrating technical thought leadership
• Relationships: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the wider team by supporting service owners and improving the quality standards & efficiency of delivery
• Technology: Build awareness of internal & external technology developments and industry best practices relevant to productivity and collaboration products
• Safety & Compliance: Lead & promote a culture of security & compliance

Desirable Experience and Capability
Years of experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience
Required Criteria
• O365 technical Specialism: Maintains proven knowledge and certification of key O365 products (specifically Teams, Yammer, Power Platforms and SharePoint online), enterprise scale tenant administration, roadmap management and managing complex O365 integrations and deployments. Provides detailed advice and technical authority across the O365 platform and suite of products and executes specialised tasks, for example scripting and product/feature enhancements.
• Emerging Technology Management: Strong external orientation of new emerging technologies (both 0365 and non-Microsoft collaboration tools) and industry best practices relevant to productivity and collaboration.
• Release and Deployment including building and testing.
• The ability to translate relevant business requirements into designs for new and enhancement of existing products and tools, and where required plan and conduct PoCs

  • Proven knowledge of automation and scripting as part of new and existing product development
  • Good interpersonal skills incl. the ability to relate complex topics in simple and accessible language.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, articulate and professional speaking abilities

Preferred Criteria
• Working knowledge of modern development methodologies (Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban, sprints)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Lean, flow, eliminating waste.
• Experience of modern approaches to source-code management and control through tools such as TFS and Git/GitHub.
• Programming / Software Development: Design, code, test, correct and document complex programs and scripts
