At I&E, all the roles are within discipline and you will part of Platform and Software Engineering sub discipline. While your role will continue to remain within the sub discipline, your initial activities described below may change over time. The sub discipline will be based on your skill set and will be confirmed if you are the successful candidate.

As a Software Engineering Specialist, you work within a team to create software for BP colleagues and external users.

Your team’s mission is to be the digital provider of choice to your area of BP – delivering innovation at speed where it's wanted, and day-in-day-out reliability where it's needed. You will operate in a dynamic and commercially focussed environment, with the resources of one of the world's largest Digital organisations and leading Digital and IT vendors working with you. You will be part of growing and strengthening our technical talent base – experts coming together to solve BP and the world’s problems.

Key Accountabilities
  • Contributes and collaborates to the design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable and scalable Salesforce product and applications
  • Is hands-on and actively contributes to code
  • Adheres to and performs configuration and customization of the Salesforce.com platform
  • Defines, implements, and enforces platform-wide standards and processes to ensure integrity of the applications within the platform
  • Responsible for deploying secure and well-tested software that meets privacy and compliance requirements; Consumes approved DevSecOps enabled CI/CD pipelines.
  • Adheres to agile methodology and operates and builds DevOps maturity. Ensuring delivery of business incremental change safely and reliably
  • Actively contributes to building DevOps maturity, incrementally and measurably improving delivery velocity

Desirable Education
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems
Desirable Experience
  • 8-12 years, with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Required Criteria
  • 8-12 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years of Salesforce experience.
  • Development experience working on Salesforce platforms
  • Experience with customizing and extending pre-built Salesforce solutions
  • Advance experience in designing custom objects, external objects, standard objects, custom fields, picklists, page layouts, workflow, approval processes, validation rules, reports, Visualforce pages, dashboards, and email generation according to application requirements
  • Advance experience in LWC, Apex, Aura, API integration and custom component configuration
  • Strong application design skills combined with strong data, integration, and security architecture skills
  • Experience in core web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Software engineering skills with Java, JSF, SQL preferred
  • Experience with custom application development on Force.com, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, REST, APIs, etc.
  • Develop and/or harvest reusable assets and patterns to accelerate the speed of delivery and improve the quality of implementations
  • Able to decompose technical considerations that everyone can understand is key. and stakeholder management and ability to lead organizations through influence
  • Continuous learning and improvement mindset (for themselves and others)
  • No prior experience in the energy industry required
Preferred Criteria
  • Experience in other CRM software packages (Microsoft CRM, InterAction, SalesLogix, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools
  • Complete tasks quickly and thoroughly, owns issues and is highly dependable.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast paced, high growth environment. Exhibits ownership of projects and tasks assigned
  • Excellent organizational skills required to adapt to a constantly changing technical environment
  • Strong team player with a customer service orientation with the ability to forge relationships at all levels of the company and across diverse cultures
  • Have excellent communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal.
  • Ethical, honest, fair and of high integrity.
  • Willingness and ability to learn at least one more programming language on top of your existing skillset
