Role Synopsis – Specialist Reliability
One of the main deliverables of the Hardware team is to deliver one of the Wells Strategic work-fronts, ‘Reliable Wells’ to increase efficiency and well reliability. This goal is delivered through the culmination of three key objectives:

  • Design of More Reliable Wells (Hardware compliance with the requirements of Practice 100220, 100202, and 100222)
  • Prevention of Wells from Breaking
  • Repair of Breakdowns Faster
The balanced delivery of these goals includes digitization of existing data & processes, integration with multiple teams within wells and with the other departments in P&O and then delivering insights through deep analysis of the data.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the strategy
  • Engage key collaborators, including regional wells teams, wells central teams, Subsurface & Production, and BP Solutions to understand their value drivers and requirements.
  • Maintain dialogue with the collaborators to ensure the strategy remains aligned with the business needs.
  • Apply expertise of technical specialists and advisors
  • Support, lead, or facilitate investigations as required
  • Compliance to requirements in 100220, 100202, and 100222
  • Knowledge and implementation of digital and agile tools and processes
  • Understanding of agile process and framework to quickly deliver value to customers and continue to incrementally deliver value
  • Digital platforms such as Palantir used within the team – mastery is not crucial – on the job training and upskilling available
  • Challenge existing work processes in support of more automated and detailed activity
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
  • Support the use of systems and processes related to the specification of supplier’s well equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance and conformance to requirements.
  • Conduct well equipment performance evaluation through design reviews, performance assessments, and qualification testing (upskilling and support will be provided in role to increase proficiency where required)
  • Conduct well equipment and tubular related root cause analysis and risk reduction initiatives associated with production deferrals, well integrity issues, and / or non-conformance reports (upskilling and support will be provided in role to increase competency where required).
  • Collaborate with regional production squads, BP Solutions, and integrity teams to address well impacting events to improve wells reliability and reduce operational risk.
  • Conduct analysis using digital tools to understand sources of wells deferrals and hardware NPT.
  • Collaborate with ConneXus to issue lessons and knowledge summary articles to detail findings from investigation or wells hardware standard methodologies.
  • Support PSCM and regional teams with the development of the technical requirements in support of new tender exercises.
  • Support the Completions Design and Standardization team in the development of the design documents (i.e. BOD, system design assessments) and related tools in support of ‘Design of More Reliable Wells’
Education
Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
