Job summary

The B2B Commerce team and service fall within the DC&M portfolio in I&E. The team supports develops and supports Commerce business as a service. You will be a key member of the team of commerce engineers supporting our ecommerce platform

Essential skills include detailed knowledge of Microsoft Exchange based mail servers, Directory synchronization, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, configuration, service, and support as well as SMTP gateway management at enterprise scale. This will include both on premise installations and management and administration of Office 365 Messaging tenants and integration into the overall 365 platform.

Technology and software specialists provide innovative, custom built or customized software and technical platforms to BP colleagues and external users. Primary activities will be leading the development, customization, testing and support of IT applications and platforms, as well as owning technical designs. You will lead the development and testing of software with a focus on software defined infrastructure, creating automated processes for the software manufacturing lifecycle which may be full CI/CD pipelines or sub-components for build and deployment depending on the platform technology in use. You will work with users, Software Engineers and Business Analysts to understand requirements for technical platforms. Platform Engineers (as a job family) will focus on underpinning or enabling technology platforms with a lens on volume, capacity, performance, stability, integrity and high availability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Team: You will work in teams of Platforms Engineers and Service Engineers to translate relevant business requirements into designs for technical platforms. Working in partnership with digital teams delivering Change and Projects – acting as technical advisor, and voice of the customer, for Release and Deployment and Change planning and implementation into supported environments – owning the delivery of Support and Customer adoption readiness tasks. You will work according to professional engineering practices, including Internet protocols, coding standards and reviews, source control management, design and operations processes following site reliability engineering principles.
  • Platforms: You will work with the team to create a clear vision and maximize value from current applications and emerging technologies, demonstrating technical thought leadership in your business area across a wide range of technologies.
  • Relationships: work in collaboration with digital teams using deep domain expertise to support and guide the resolution of issues, incidents, problems and assist with integrated continuous improvement, and the fulfilment of any customer requirements that require expertise.
  • Technology: You will build awareness of internal and external technology developments, managing the delivery of process and system improvements, identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans for Platform Engineering and ensuring best practice is shared across the team.

Required Criteria:
  • 5-7 years of strong SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) platform development knowledge, including experience with versions released in the last 1-2 years
  • Experience of hands-on development with Java and Spring
  • Develop and maintain B2B features within the Sap Commerce framework
  • Hands-on experience in development functionality accompanied by unit tests, integration tests, etc
  • Knowledge of development in all areas of Hybris eCommerce B2C and B2B, including Catalog Management, Product Modeling, Inventory Availability, Shopping Cart and Checkout, Order Management, Search and Browse, SEO, Personalization
  • Hands on experience with Hybris Core Architecture, cockpits, impex, backoffice customization & accelerator store customization
  • Experience working with Git version control system
  • Experience of integrating SAP Commerce with SAP ERP or CRM system
  • Self-driven, able to work independently or within a team setting.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams
  • Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud based on Microsoft Azure (CCv2) is highly desirable
