Job Profile Summary
Location: Primary Location is USA - – Wayne, New Jersey, however, secondary location is in ’ Naperville, IL. bp is now operating a new hybrid working solution for office-based employees, with a split between remote and office working.

Lead and manage the Sales & Operations Planning process for the DIY/Retail Channel, acting as the supply chain single point of accountability for channel operations/fulfilment activities. Develop aggregated demand, supply and inventory plans, optimizing the supply and demand balance to deliver business targets across service, inventory, cost and other business deliverables. The role is part of the centralized planning function in the Americas.

Key Accountabilities:
In your role as the Sales and Operations Manager -DIY your responsibilities will include some of the following:

  • Lead the S&OP process for the DIY / Retail sales channel. Drive cross-functional alignment of forecasted volumes, inclusive of vulnerabilities, opportunities, and assumptions
  • Act as face of the supply chain to the business, integrating closely with sales and marketing stakeholders
  • Maintain / Improve total health of the channel supply chain & oversee the daily operations and disruptions (IMT, BST, BCP involvement) to ensure customer needs are met. Key metrics: IFOT/Fill rate, FG Inventory (+SLOBs), Forecast Bias/Accuracy.
  • Build and drive a strong customer centric culture across the immediate team and cross-functional team members
  • Define and develop inventory and replenishment strategies, including stocking policies, production policies, safety stock targets and SKU classification for retail items.
  • Create & communicate monthly master supply plans for relevant product portfolio, linking with plant / raw material planners as needed to ensure supply can meet demand, or develop mitigations
  • Link with sales / customer operations team to co-develop appropriate and cost effective offers which enable efficient / touchless order fulfillment
  • Drive integration and completion of customer supply chain related initiatives via links with PLM (product lifecycle management) / IVC (integrated value chain) / VMI (vendor managed inventory) / CPFR (customer planning, forecasting and replenishment)
  • Ensure data integrity for all FG planning master data in ERP and other relevant databases, working closely with the Master Data / reporting manager for best practices and KPI reporting.
  • Provide thought leadership by integrating industry best practices into our mid and long-term roadmaps.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team of demand and supply planning professionals, coaching and mentoring staff and overall GSC on S&OP, end to end demand and supply planning principles and key performance deliverables.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably engineering, logistics, business, or supply chain management) or equivalent with substantial experience in the CPG, lubricants, or chemical industry. Production, demand and/or material requirements planning experience required. Desirable Criteria:
  • Experienced end-to-end Supply Chain Leader with a proven track record of operational excellence and transformational change with substantial experience in complex operations roles. In-depth understanding of the business environment & business practices
  • Strong leadership skills, specifically showing a wide range of interpersonal skills applicable in different situations with staff, internal peers and external contacts. A proven track record in indirect leadership and influencing skills. Demonstrated experience interacting with senior level management.
  • Experienced in leveraging relationships and networks within organizations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, understanding of strategic supplier/customer relationships
  • Substantial experiences in supply planning & S&OP, Manufacturing, Distribution with Demand and/or Supply Planning a must.
  • Experience as people manager required. Must be able to lead meetings and groups of people in large forums on related content.

Desirable Criteria:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Mathematics or Computer Science
  • APICS or CSCMP certification highly desirable.
