Grade JResponsible for providing Static Mechanical engineering support to projects or operations, including maintenance, inspection and turnaround, interacting with other disciplines, teams, subfunctions and contractors to assist in resolving problems and developing engineering judgement to deliver integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, operating efficiency, defect elimination and standardisation.

Mechanical Engineer
Responsible for delivering Static Mechanical engineering support to the refinery, including maintenance, inspection, projects, and turnaround. Promoting collaboration with other disciplines, teams, subfunctions and contractors to systematically resolve problems and developing capabilities of the team to apply integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, operating efficiency, defect resolution, elimination and standardisation

In this role You will:
  • Providing Static Mechanical engineering support to ensure safe operations and maximum efficiency.
  • Performing and checking completion engineering calculations, specifications, construction, commissioning, and start-up, along with ongoing operations.
  • Applying sound knowledge and skills to solve assigned engineering problems as well as promoting interaction with other teams and disciplines to identify safe and competitive solutions to problems.
  • Acting as coordinator or reviewer for Static Mechanical engineering changes and ensure appropriate codes and practices are adhered to.
  • Supporting efforts to ensure Static Mechanical engineering risks are understood, controlled, and reduced.

We have the following requirements:

  • Completed studies in a technical subject (mechanical engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering or similar) with a degree in engineering or master's degree
  • Good communication skills, confident demeanor and assertiveness
  • Conceptual thinking skills and independent way of working
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
