Our business is diverse, and so are the types of people who do well here. From engineers and geologists out in the field, to information technology professionals, research scientists and financial traders, attracting the very best talent is what makes us competitive in an ever-changing business landscape.

About the opportunity

As part of our fast-paced Information Technology & Services (IT&S) team, you’ll learn to work on the software that makes us world-class.

BP is one of the three largest energy companies in the world, operating in over 70 countries across six continents. There’s a wide-range of distinct BP businesses, and you’ll be using leading-edge technology to help us deliver the services they rely on.

This Level 4 apprenticeship will give you valuable software and web development training (.NET) at our provider’s training facility.

About you

Gained through work experience or study, you should have skills in delivering good quality object-oriented code and functionality and some experience of integrated analysis development. Clear thinking, the ability to troubleshoot and a willingness to embrace new technologies and roles will be key, and you’ll also be an effective time manager. It’s also important that you’re a natural collaborator and communicator. It would be a distinct advantage to have a background with a global team in an agile environment, a grasp of DevOps culture and some knowledge of User Experience Design, Amazon Web Services Cloud platforms or Team Foundation Server with Visual Studio, but you can pick these up when you join. Knowledge of C#, .NET, WPF and T-SQL would be useful too.
