Overview

Supply and trading is BP's face to the traded markets in oil, gas, power, emissions, chemicals and finance. Its role is to enhance performance and maximize group value for our assets through distinctive supply, commodity trading, risk management and information technology, underpinned by a world-class finance, control and compliance infrastructure.

 

Wherever you join us, you’ll be part of a unique, diverse, multi-national organization which will give you exposure to both supply and trading. Our trading environment is different because it’s not part of a large financial institution. Yet it’s one of the largest in the world and has hubs in London, Chicago, Houston and Singapore.

School leaver programme

Discovery days - first or second year university students

Join BP supply and trading for a discovery day, and you will have an opportunity to experience our culture and working environment.

You can expect to visit our trading floor, learn more about oil, gas and renewable energy from our industry experts and even take part in a trading game. Our graduates will be happy to talk to you about their roles and experiences in a networking session and you may participate in workshops to help you improve your soft skills. A discovery day will enable you to be immersed in the world of energy and help you understand the fantastic career paths available.

Supply and trading discovery week - first or second year university students

The supply and trading discovery week is designed to give you an idea of the breadth of opportunity in supply and trading, providing valuable insight into the energy industry and how supply and trading enhances BP group value through supply, trading, risk management, marketing and analytics.

This immersive week will begin with an induction day and is followed by three days of rotation, you will meet various members of our business and take part in workshops and development sessions. You will also shadow at least two of our current graduates on different schemes who are completing different rotations. All of this will give you great exposure to supply and trading as a whole. On the final day, you’ll be invited to take part in a scenario-based technical interview for our either our analytics, commercial or trading internships.

 

The programme is open to students due to graduate in 2022 and acts as a fast track to a 2021 summer internship.
