Quarantine before transport offshore
bp has taken stringent measures to protect its offshore teams, both before, during and after they are transported to their facility. In Angola, for example, workers on the Greater Plutonio floating production, storage and offloading vessel must first go into quarantine in a Luanda hotel for two weeks prior to heading offshore for their four-week rotation. bp Angola journey to lower carbon future in Angola
Since Greater Plutonio came on-stream in 2007, the absence of a gas export and commercial route at the time meant a lot of produced gas was flared. A multi-discipline team was set-up to tackle the issue and in few months we improved our flow metering to get better well and system performance data.
As Paulo was about to finish high school in 2000, bp launched its first Offshore Technician Development Programme, through which he joined the company in January 2001
