NSW metro contracts awarded to Linfox

Release date: 4 March 2014

BP Australia has begun implementing a new logistics strategy to support the delivery of some 8 billion litres of fuel per annum to customers across Australia.

The new strategy which has been under development since April 2013 aims to have fewer, but larger, long-term contracts and is fully aligned with the BP group objective of increased rigour in contractor qualification, assurance and oversight.

In relation to its New South Wales metro operations, BP has awarded a long-term (5 year) contract to Linfox and following a period of managed transition, Linfox will assume responsibility for BP's fuel deliveries in Sydney and Newcastle from 1 April 2014.

Announcing the first parcel of work to be awarded as part of the new strategy, Geoff Gruebner, BP's Head of Terminals and Logistics, said, "I am confident that this relationship with Linfox will provide BP and its business partners with best in class performance over the long-term."
