Regional president, Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Gary is a proven business leader with over 30 years of experience. Prior to this role he was BP’s global head of drilling, completions and wells. Gary began his career with BP in 1981 and has held many leadership positions in drilling, operations and projects. Gary holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University.
Communications, external affairs, strategy & region vice president Bakhtiyar is accountable for C&EA, ethics and compliance, stewarding regional strategy and is the leadership team tag for tax and customs. In his most recent role as the region tax and customs manager, Bakhtiyar was responsible for managing tax and customs issues in the AGT region.
AGT projects vice president Ewan is responsible for all the the ACG and Shah Deniz projects. He has more than 30 years of BP project management and operational experience in the UK, Norway, Indonesia and US. In 2001 his Magnus EOR project team won the inaugural Helios Award.
Safety and operational risk vice president Orkhan is accountable for an an independent view of the regional operational risks and implementation of assurance activity to verify the strength of barriers against risks. He has 20 years of experience with BP. Prior to this, he has been CDWG area operations manager
Reservoir development vice president Brant is accountable for all reservoir management and development planning activity. He joined BP in 1997 and has held a range of operational, engineering and technical leadership roles in Alaska, the UK, and Azerbaijan before joining North America Gas in 2013 as the VP reservoir development.
Operations vice president. Elkhan is accountable for the safe, compliant and reliable operations of all AGT based BP offshore operations. Elkhan joined BP in 2001 as an instrument technician on the Chirag platform. He then held various positions on different platforms in the North Sea and Caspian Sea. Elkhan has been the production vice president in AGT since January 2016.
Assistant general counsel Carolyn is responsible for the provision of business focused legal advice to the AGT region. Carolyn joined BP’s Aberdeen office in March 2000. Her recent role was managing counsel, North Sea and Norway. Carolyn brings deep expertise as a lawyer and legal leader working on commercially complex transactions in a fast paced upstream region.
Head of planning and commercial operations Emil has spent more than 15 years in BP most of which in upstream finance, with previous roles in planning, commercial operations, business development. His recent role was VP deployed planning, AGT/Asia Pacific/North Africa and Middle East. In his current role he is responsible for leading commercial and business planning activities for BP across AGT region.
ACG Global Projects Organization (GPO) vice president Cathal is accountable for providing leadership and direction to the following GPO projects: ACG major projects including ACG future oil & gas developments, ACG Cat B including ACG subsea water injection and produced water projects and Western route export pipeline – sectional replacement project. His previous experience in Caspian projects includes his role as project general manager on SD 2.
Wells vice president Mike is accountable for the safe, compliant and reliable delivery of all well activity in the AGT region. He has more than 33 years of oilfield experience with operations and engineering leadership and management roles across intervention, completion, and drilling activity in both onshore and offshore operations. Mike has spent the last six years as VP wells, Gulf of Mexico region.
Southern Corridor vice president Joe is responsible for Shah Deniz Gas Value Chain (GVC) integration and BP's external affairs for all Southern Corridor matters, including representation of Shah Deniz GVC to the governments of Greece, Albania, Italy and to the European Commission (EC). He joined BP in 2000 and is an experienced oil and gas industry manager.
Human resources vice president Leyla is accountable for delivery of efficient human Resources (HR) operations activity, managing HR related risks, employee relations and compliance. She joined Amoco in 1993, and since BP-Amoco merger held HR positions of increasing responsibility in Azerbaijan, also on assignments in Pakistan, Russia and US.
Midstream vice president Zaur is accountable for safe, reliable and efficient operation of the AGT Midstream Organization. Prior to his current role, he worked as the area operations manager (Sangachal), the Shah Deniz area operations manager and Chirag 1 platform offshore installation manager. Early in his career he also worked in various leadership roles in Midstream export pipelines.
Exploration vice president Greg is accountable for exploration in the Caspian region including progression of exploration programmes and new acreage acquisition. Greg has held a variety of roles in AGT in exploration, appraisal and developments.
AGT vice president and president of BP Turkey Mick is accountable for the integrated delivery of our business in Turkey as well as in-country relationships and risk management. He has nearly 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to his current role he has been VP operations for BP’s onshore global portfolio.
Chief procurement officer Philip is responsible for integration of all procurement and supply chain management demand and activity in AGT. He represents the function in the region and manages PSCM relationships with partners and host governments. He has over 25 years’ experience in procurement. His recent role has been chief procurement officer, Middle East region.
