One Team cycle ride

The late summer sun of 2021 and beautiful Denby’s vineyard in the Surrey Hills, south-east England, set the scene for what would be a brilliant day for the bp One Team cycle ride and its 210 riders - some doing up to 100km of riding on the day.

The day started with words of motivation from double Paralympic silver medallist, and bp ambassador, Kare Adenegan, who then cheered on the riders during the day and chatted to them at the rest stations throughout the course

The annual event was started over the last six years in order to support of one of the key values at bp – One Team - with bp employees raising funds, which are matched by the bp Foundation.

Following a virtual ‘ride’ in 2020 because of the pandemic, it was inspiring to see riders back in person straight after the delayed Tokyo 2020 games.

“I was inspired by the determination of the participants. The opportunity to be there and witness the restart of the in-person ride was really moving and shows why the One Team ride is so special to all involved.” Kare Adenegan, British wheelchair athlete.
