BP supports flood relief efforts in Georgia

The BP Foundation has committed to donate $50,000 to the Georgian Red Cross in the wake of heavy flooding in Tbilisi, Georgia on 13 June 2015. The contribution from the BP Foundation through the Red Cross will go toward providing relief assistance to those affected.  

BP has also launched employee matching fund to support Tbilisi flood relief efforts. The BP Foundation will match up employee contributions to support immediate disaster relief efforts in Tbilisi.

BP Georgia has donated 700 pairs of safety gloves to the local Red Cross to provide the basic protective items to the large number of volunteers working to clear up the flood-hit areas from mud and debris.

Country Manager for BP Georgia, Chris Schlueter says: “We share the country’s grief and send our heartfelt condolences to those directly impacted, to the Government and people of Georgia and our community, on behalf of the entire BP family. I hope that the donation from BP can play a small part in helping country to recover."
