For BP, working with leading Russian cultural institutions provides the opportunity to branch out into important areas of Russia’s cultural life.

 

Mariinsky Theatre

For many years, BP has been working with the Mariinsky Theatre and the Valery Gergiev Foundation. Since 2011 BP supports concert tours of the Mariinsky Theatre to Great Britain, giving music lovers abroad the chance to experience the very best of Russian performing art.

Supporting Russian culture

Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory

In 2012 BP became the largest corporate sponsor of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and is providing support for staging concerts of leading Russian and international musicians.

Tretyakov Gallery

In 2011 BP became a sponsor of one of the world's most famous museums, the State Tretyakov Gallery. Due to the help of the company the Tretyakov Gallery managed to hold various exhibitions, issue interesting guidebooks and release a video film about Gallery’s history. 

Moscow Music Theatre

In 2012 BP became the general sponsor of  the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. Thanks to the charity of BP many creative plans and ideas were realized in the Theatre. 

Hermitage Museum

Starting from 2012 BP develops partnership with the State Hermitage Museum. The company supports exhibitions and restoration works.

Britten-Shostakovich Festival Orchestra 

Marking the UK-Russia Year of Music in 2019, Rosneft and BP have agreed to support the creation of a unique musical joint venture, the Russo-British Britten-Shostakovich Festival Orchestra (BSFO).

 

The orchestra consists of young musicians, representing leading conservatories from both countries. BSFO is formed and led by Jan Latham-Koenig, Creative Director of the Novaya Opera House, Moscow.

 

In September 2019 the BSFO gave concerts in Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Basingstoke and London.
