Hero - the Energy Within story of T&T para-athlete, Akeem Stewart
Akeem Stewart took up athletics at age five in Tobago where he lives. He was coached by father who introduced him to the sport and encouraged him to compete without fear. His first paralympic competition was in 2013 in Medellin, Colombia. Since then, he has ignited the energy within to compete in annual para-athletic games and he became the first athlete from Trinidad and Tobago to win a gold medal at the Parapan American Games in 2015 in Toronto. His most memorable achievement to-date however was winning gold and setting a world record at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. We are very proud to support Akeem in his quest for greatness and hope he is inspired to continue igniting the energy within.
