Diagrams and Drawings – Practical Usage

There are many types of maps and drawings with various uses. This training will provide you with an awareness of the different drawing types (e.g., Process Safety Information Drawings, Section Plats, Gathering Maps, etc.), their requirements, and uses.

Lessons include:

Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • The overall format and structure of a P&ID.
  • How equipment, piping, instrumentation, and controls are identified.
  • The various roles involved in using and maintaining P&IDs.
A P&ID is a graphical representation of the process flow, instrumentation, and construction of an Operation. P&IDs are commonly used while performing Hazard Identification and Task Risk Assessment (HITRA), Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Emergency Preparedness, and many other tasks.
