Electrical Equipment – Medium/Low Voltage

Medium and low voltage electrical systems are used in pipeline and industrial applications for the operation and maintenance of processes and systems. The proper installation, inspection, and maintenance of low and medium voltage electrical equipment is critical to the safety of personnel and efficient operations.

Students demonstrate proficiency in the installation, maintenance and operation of low and medium voltage electrical systems.

Lessons include:

  • Electrical theory
  • Electrical test equipment
  • Conductors and cables
  • Conduit, conduit bending and raceways
  • Electrical drawings
  • National Electrical Code
  • Electrical safety
  • Circuit breakers and fuses
  • Grounding and Bonding
  • Motors
  • Control systems
  • Overcurrent protection
  • Transformers
