High octane but low carbon – TrustFord’s #BreakoutForBen charity drive will be offset by BP Target Neutral

Release date: 7 December 2018

Castrol is proud to be offsetting the carbon emissions from TrustFord’s Breakout For Ben charity driving challenge which started today from TrustFord’s Long Marston hub in Warwickshire. TrustFord is the world’s largest dedicated Ford dealership

The 54 teams, driving new Ford Focus and Ford Tourneo vehicles, are aiming to drive as far as they can in 25 hours to raise money for the Ben automotive charity that provides support to people that have worked in the automotive sector. Teams have been raising funds by asking colleagues, family, friends and businesses to sponsor them via a JustGiving page. To date over £100,000 has been raised.

The carbon emissions produced from each car during the event will be measured and carbon credits purchased by BP Target Neutral from activities that reduce or absorb the equivalent greenhouse gases, like this forest management project in Zambia.

Castrol and BP Target Neutral have been helping businesses in the automotive sector to reduce carbon emissions through their innovative products and services, like their carbon neutral range of Castrol Professional lubricants and carbon offsetting portal for franchised workshops.
