Since launch more than 31,000 tonnes CO2e [Jan-Dec 2018] have been offset through the purchase of offsets from carbon reduction projects around the world that seek to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to the communities they serve.
BP Target Neutral worked with Air BP to help it become the first aviation fuel supplier to achieve carbon neutrality for its global into-plane fuelling operations.
Air BP now has a 10-year commitment to carbon neutral status which involves a plan that targets a five percent reduction in carbon emissions using a range of initiatives.
These include increasing driving efficiency, improving operational efficiency in waste management and stock management, vehicle fleet upgrades and maximising the options for supplying biofuels.
Any residual emissions, following these reductions, are offset through BP Target Neutral - using carbon credits from carbon reduction projects that also seek to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to the communities they serve.
13,000 tonnes CO2e have been offset for the period [Jul 2017-Jun 2018]*.

One such company – DHL – operates a 160,000 sq ft warehouse in Leicestershire that sends over 1.5m packets of crisps and 400,000 sandwiches every month to drivers stopping for fuel or to grab a bite to eat at BP forecourts.
BP Target Neutral worked with DHL to put a plan in place to reduce, replace and neutralise carbon emissions and gain carbon neutral certification.
DHL’s depot has invested in efficient lighting and an improved battery system for stock picking in its warehouse. Deliveries are made using a fleet of lower emission trucks and all packaging, food and retail store waste is returned to the depot for sorting, compacting or shredding and then recycled or sent to produce biogas.
The depot transport management centre even uses software to monitor and measure driver performance - recording braking, engine idle, acceleration and combined coasting. Drivers are then scored and incentivised based on the efficiency of their performance.
Any residual emissions, following these carbon reductions, are offset through BP Target Neutral - using carbon credits from projects that also seek to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to the communities they serve.
