BP's new CEO visits Azerbaijan

Bob Dudley, BP’s new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is paying a working visit to Azerbaijan accompanied by his predecessor Tony Hayward. Mr Dudley and Mr Hayward arrived in Baku yesterday and their visit, which is planned as part of BP CEO’s handover process, will last two days.

 

Mr Dudley took over from Mr Hayward as CEO on October 1.

 

Mr Dudley’s visit programme includes a number of internal meetings with BP Azerbaijan leadership and staff, and a visit to the Sangachal Terminal near Baku.

 

As the new BP CEO Mr Dudley will also be introduced to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan HE Ilham Aliyev. During that meeting Mr Dudley will brief the President on the current status and plans for BP-operated projects in this country. Mr Dudley will cover BP’s continued excellent delivery as the operator of Azerbaijan’s major oil and gas production and transportation projects, and will reiterate BP’s long-term commitment to enhancing and expanding its cooperation with Azerbaijan and the Caspian region.

 

Mr Dudley is also set to meet with SOCAR leadership to discuss further plans for cooperation.
