Colin Allan has been appointed to the role of vice president finance for the Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye (AGT) region effective 1 July 2022.
In this role, Colin becomes a member of the AGT regional leadership team and will be responsible for all commercial matters related to bp’s oil, gas and renewables businesses in AGT, developing strategy and managing financial performance.
In this position Colin replaces Niall Henderson, who has been appointed to the role of bp’s vice president mergers and acquisitions (M&A) low carbon energy and innovation, effective 1 July 2022.
Over the past 23 years with bp, Colin has built deep functional expertise in finance having been exposed to a wide range of issues and businesses across many geographies. In his previous role, Colin was vice president for finance and gas growth for bp’s business in Trinidad & Tobago, managing a complex commercial portfolio spanning the liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain and the development of low carbon ventures. Prior to that, Colin was a commercial manager for bp in AGT, where he played a key role in the negotiation of the landmark ACG Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) extension in 2017 and the subsequent sanctioning of the Azeri Central East (ACE) project.
Colin has been known for his strategic insight, ability to build relationships and commitment to the development of others. He has also applied his skills outside of the energy sector and has been on the board of a charity in the UK and on the boards of international schools in Azerbaijan and Trinidad.
Colin holds a degree in modern history from the University of Oxford.
Colin is married and is a father of three daughters.
