In line with its global practice BP views corporate social responsibility an integral part of its business in Russia.
BP’s overall support of the local social, cultural, educational and charity projects has been one of the largest among foreign companies operating in Russia.
BP’s programme in support of education and science was launched in 2004. Partnership, which initially covered three leading universities in Moscow, was expanded in 2010 and now includes nine universities all over Russia – in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk and Vladivostok.
Within the framework of educational program BP has developed a system for supporting specialist education in Russia, offering scholarships for students, providing support for professors of energy studies and grants for innovative scientific research projects.
We are collaborating with the Polytechnical Museum contributing to the creation of a unique platform for science, and Russian Geographical Society, supporting research, education and cultural programmes aimed at promotion of knowledge about the geography and cultural heritage of Russia.
We are proud to have the Mariinsky Theatre, the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Hermitage, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre among our partners.
For BP, working with leading Russian cultural institutions provides the opportunity to branch out into important areas of Russia’s cultural life.
BP contributes to the development of education, technology and skills in Russian industry and business.
