BP operates in the lubricants sector through its Castrol brand, which is present in Brazil since 1957, when its plant was installed in Rio de Janeiro

The brand has closely followed the development of the Brazilian automobile industry, consistently predicting its new demands. In 1992, it was the first to offer synthetic high-performance lubricants, and it was one of the first manufacturers to offer oils in plastic containers.

Today we supply lubricants for vehicles that run on gasoline, alcohol, diesel and natural gas manufactured by the country’s main carmakers. The Castrol brand is among the two most remembered by consumers in the Brazilian automobile lubricants category, according to research carried out by specialist magazines.

In addition to products for the automobile market, the Castrol line of product includes items for the aviation, industrial, shipping and energy sectors.
