Multiple celebrations for Airfield Automation

Release date:
September 2020
Air bps airfield automation
With misfuelling one of the biggest risks faced by our industry we are delighted to have surpassed a milestone with our Airfield Automation digital technology. The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) became the 250,000th customer to complete an Airfield Automation refuelling at Adelaide Airport earlier this year.

As the first commercially deployed system in the world to provide an engineering barrier to actively help prevent misfuelling, our innovative cloud-based platform enhances safety, reliability and compliance in airport fuelling operations. It does this by capturing fuel volume readings and running fuel grade checks which can be easily accessed via an app on a handheld device.

Award-winning technology

Another cause for celebration was Airfield Automation winning three awards at the UK Real IT Awards in July. In addition to winning awards for excellence in application modernisation and product innovation, our innovative technology was also named the 2020 overall winner.

This external recognition is testament to the success of Airfield Automation and the hard work of all those involved. But it doesn’t stop there. Since launching in May 2018 Airfield Automation has been rolled out to more than 180 network locations across four continents and 19 countries. We look forward to continuing the roll out of Airfield Automation in the coming months.
